New General Manager appointed at JW Marriott Absheron Baku

Alper Can Bulcum was welcomed as the new General Manager of the JW Marriott Absheron Baku, effective December 23rd, 2019.

Alper re-joins Marriott International from San Clemente Palace Kempinski Venice and brings with him over 30 years of hospitality experience. He grew his career through positions in Sales & Marketing and Revenue Management at The Regent Almaty, Park Hyatt & Hyatt Regency Baku, The Ritz-Carlton, Istanbul and The Ritz-Carlton, Bahrain. As Director of Revenue Management he was part of the opening team at Madinat Jumeirah Dubai in 2004. In 2005 he moved to the InterContinental Almaty for his first General Manager assignment, followed by GM positions at The Marmara Istanbul and Burjuman Arjaan Dubai by Rotana.

Alper joined the Wyndham Hotel Group as General Manager at the Grand Istanbul Kalamis Marina in December 2011 and was promoted to Cluster General Manager for the Ramada Plaza Jumeirah Beach Dubai and Ramada Sharjah two years later. As a result of his great performance the hotel received an award of Hotel of the Year 2013, whereas in 2014 Alper was awarded as General Manager of the year for EMEAI region. 2017 he took on a role of General Manager at The St. Regis Istanbul. Under his leadership the hotel was awarded as Hotel of the year Luxury Brands Europe.

Throughout his successful career, Alper has demonstrated efficient leadership and people management skills with strong experience in managing multi-cultural teams across Italy, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, Kazakhstan, Bahrain and Azerbaijan.
