The Embassy of Pakistan has hosted a media briefing for Azerbaijani media representatives to apprise them about the recently unveiled Dossier on Jammu and Kashmir region.
The 131-page Dossier was unveiled by Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi, along with National Security Adviser Dr. Moeed Yusuf and Federal Minister for Human Rights Dr. Shireen Mazari in Islamabad on September 12. A complete dossier along with audio, video and photographs is published on the website of Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry. The document is based on 113 references including 26 from the international media, 41 from the Indian think-tanks and only 14 from Pakistan.
At the press-briefing in Baku on Thursday, the Pakistani Ambassador Bilal Hayee noted that “India systematicly violated human rights” in Kashmir, and presented photos and evidences to support these statement.
“Big states, European countries, without calling on India to stop its aggressive policy, put their economic interests in India above the protection of human rights,” the Ambassador said. “We call on international community to come and see what is happening in Kashmir. We call on India to comply with the 6 demands presented by Pakistan at the briefing on September 12, 2021.”
The diplomat noted that the Pakistani government calles for the self-determination of Kashmir based on International covenant on civil and political rights treaty. Mr. Hayee went on to add that Azerbaijan is a friendly country for Pakistan and understands this special situation in Kashmir. He also thanked Azerbaijan and the Azerbaijani people for their support in this issue.
Earlier Azerbaijan Foreign Ministry repeatedly noted that Azerbaijan, as responsible member of the international community, supports the peaceful resolution of Jammu and Kashmir issue in accordance with the norms and principles of international law and the relevant UNSC resolutions, as well as with full respect to the international humanitarian law.
