On the occasion of the 18th anniversary of the accession of His Majesty King Mohammed VI to the throne, the Moroccan embassy in Baku organized a reception to celebrate Morocco`s Throne Day.
Moroccan ambassador in Baku Mohamed Adil Embarch was host of the celebration and greeted the guests as they arrived at Fairmont hotel in Baku.
Adil Embarch emphasized the role of high-level reciprocal visits in the development of relations between the two countries. He underlined that both Azerbaijan and Morocco were centers of tolerance and multiculturalism in their regions.
The ambassador highlighted Morocco`s achievements over the past years.
Ambassador Embarch also affirmed his country`s backing for Azerbaijan`s territorial integrity.
Chairman of Azerbaijan`s State Committee on Work with Religious Associations Mubariz Gurbanli hailed bilateral relations and cooperation between the two countries in the spheres of tourism, agriculture and energy. He lauded Morocco for supporting Azerbaijan on the Nagorno-Karabakh dispute.
Gurbanli also underlined that trade between Azerbaijan and Morocco had increased 50 times in recent years.
The trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Morocco amounted to about $1.74 million in January-June 2017, increased by $566.510, or 48.2 percent, as compared to the same period of last year, according to the State Customs Committee of Azerbaijan.
